At The WakeUp, we are a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization based in New York that takes a nurturing, research-backed approach to healing financial trauma by providing financial literacy and education. We can nurture more lives and maximize impact for the long-term and generations to come. For this reason we're on the ground, partnering with the nation’s most forward-thinking governmental bodies and activists to re-imagine wealth-building opportunities for our people of color and the less fortunate. We achieve this by addressing key areas of influence – cultural institutions, education systems, policy making, and families. Alone we can only go so fast but together we can go far.

Culture.
Our culture and environment shapes our behaviors and beliefs, making it a powerful vehicle for change. From churches to town hall meetings, we work with on-the-ground activists to support and change our communities for the better. We have leaders who are educated on how to dismantle systems of financial trauma, then work side-by-side with them to integrate our wealth justice research into new legislation.

Education.
To help prevent financial trauma in our youth we strive to reform the system that shapes their mindset. We've built a curriculum that teaches them how to understand and build wealth. For adults, we provide an education that not only heals their financial trauma but also empowers them with the skillset they need to take action and eliminate financial inequities in our communities

To reach each and every house hold directly, we host programs that empower them to understand how the system works, identify its flaws and better capatilise on these systems. This including relevant training and programs within the financial sector and home buying process.
